building systems for circular fashion

Scavenging the textile waste stream for new opportunities in regenerative design and degrowth mindset.
In early 2010, I stood in an NYC office work room surrounded by discarded textiles that each represented 500 ready-to-ship garments that were to be burned, discarded, or otherwise wasted. I had been working in the fashion industry since 2006, but it was the first time I actually felt like a professional fashion designer. Doing the math in my head X*500, but it really didn't matter what the X equaled. I was heartbroken in an instant.
On my subway ride home that night I asked myself for the first time: What is sustainable fashion?
Answering that question drives my curiosity and passion still.
I love living in Longmont, CO at the doorway to Rocky Mountain National Park and I am a proud Colorado gal. But I was always obsessed with fashion, textiles, and design. I left CO for Brooklyn NY at 18 spent the next decade living the city life.
I returned to Colorado in 2016 to pursue my goals of finding truly regenerative solutions for the fashion industry.
